Senior Software Developer

Role Overview
This is a senior-level Software Development Engineer opportunity focused on cloud-based development within AWS. The role requires strong hands-on coding, infrastructure deployment, and deep-dive technical troubleshooting capability. You will design, develop, implement, test, and deliver new large-scale, multi-tiered, distributed software applications, tools, and systems. This is not a support role; the focus is on creating net new production software.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, implement, test, document, and deliver large-scale, multi-tiered, distributed software applications, tools, and systems.
- Utilize multi-threaded and distributed programming in Python or Java within a Linux environment.
- Automate and deploy code for new production software.
- Deploy and manage CloudFormation stacks.
- Gather and analyze business and functional requirements, translating them into technical specifications.
- Own the delivery of entire pieces of a system or application and serve as a technical lead on complex projects.
- Produce comprehensive and usable software documentation.
- Participate in a 24x7 on-call support rotation.
Required Qualifications
Education: A Master of Science in Computer Science, Computer or Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field plus one year of experience is required. Alternatively, a Bachelor's degree in a related field plus five years of progressively responsible experience will be considered.
Experience: A minimum of 4-5 years of software engineering experience is required. This must include hands-on experience deploying services in AWS environments, along with a strong backend or cloud engineering foundation.
Technical Skills:- Strong programming experience in Python or Java.
- Hands-on experience with a broad range of AWS services.
- Proven ability to deploy and manage CloudFormation stacks; CloudFormation CDK is preferred.
- Proficiency with SQL, JDBC, Object-Oriented design, and design patterns.
Preferred Qualifications
- Data engineering experience.
- Experience developing or implementing AI tools.
- Knowledge of middleware messaging systems and Oracle.
- Prior experience in a similar environment is preferred.
