Role Overview
An opportunity is available for a Software Systems Engineer to support an Advance Weapons Business Unit. In this role, you will define software requirements and perform functional decomposition of subsystem specifications. This position is 100% on-site.
Key Responsibilities
- Translate system and subsystem level software requirements into software level requirements for each Computer Software Configuration Item (CSCI).
- Collaborate with System and Software engineers to develop software architecture models.
- Support the verification and validation of the software product to ensure all integrated CSCIs function as intended.
- Conduct requirements analysis, requirements allocation, system design, software design, and software implementation.
- Perform software testing, system integration, field integration testing, and requirements verification.
- Develop use cases, activity diagrams, and sequence diagrams using enterprise architecture tools.
- Write and execute Software Test Plans and Test Descriptions.
Required Qualifications
- Experience in systems engineering tools, such as DOORS and CAMEO.
- Experience in Embedded Software, with the ability to read code and verify implementation per Software Requirements Specifications.
- Experience with system, subsystem, software, and hardware integration, test, and verification.
- Experience in the defense industry and design within an aerospace environment.
- Candidates must be willing and able to obtain a DOD Secret clearance
Preferred Qualifications
- Active DOD Secret Clearance
- Experience in multiple aerospace and defense technologies such as sensors, navigation aids, guidance electronics, controls, propulsion, structures, or platforms.
- Technical knowledge in one or more military mission areas.
- Experience in assessing legacy system architecture and innovation for future technology development.
