Responsibilities:
We are seeking a Senior RF Test System Engineer to join Keysight''s Aerospace & Defense Custom Solutions (ADCS) team. In this highly autonomous, customer-facing role, you will serve as a technical leader responsible for designing, integrating, and deploying advanced RF test systems for aerospace and defense customers.
You will work directly with customers to understand complex test challenges, architect automated test solutions, and deliver complete systems that combine Keysight''s industry-leading hardware, software, and measurement technologies. Success in this role requires a strong foundation in RF measurements, automated test systems, systems integration, and customer collaboration.
The ideal candidate enjoys solving complex technical problems, working across hardware and software domains, and partnering with customers to transform requirements into innovative, mission-critical test solutions supporting Radar, Electronic Warfare (EW), Satellite Communications (SATCOM), and other advanced aerospace and defense applications.
- Serve as the technical lead for the design, development, integration, and deployment of custom RF test systems and automated test solutions for aerospace and defense customers.
- Architect and implement automated test solutions, including software development, device drivers, and test interfaces using industry-standard test and measurement platforms.
- Design, integrate, and validate complete system-level solutions that combine RF instrumentation, signal routing, switching, software automation, and measurement technologies.
- Partner directly with customers to understand requirements, translate technical challenges into practical solutions, and ensure successful project execution and customer satisfaction.
- Lead and contribute to cross-functional projects involving engineering, program management, sales, customers, suppliers, and third-party partners.
- Participate in customer design reviews, technical discussions, and milestone reviews to ensure solutions meet performance, schedule, and quality objectives.
- Integrate Keysight hardware, software, and services into customer environments and ensure delivered solutions perform to specification.
- Solve complex technical problems spanning RF measurements, test automation, hardware integration, software development, and system performance.
- Provide technical expertise during pre-sales activities, helping customers evaluate approaches and identify the best test solutions for their applications.
- Deliver customer training, technical consulting, and post-deployment support to maximize customer success and solution adoption.
- Serve as a trusted technical advisor and primary customer interface throughout the project lifecycle, including occasional travel to customer sites.
This role is based onsite in Loveland, Colorado. Candidates must reside in the local area or be willing to relocate.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor''s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering discipline, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Master''s degree preferred.
- 8+ years of experience in Test Engineering, Systems Engineering, Automated Test Equipment (ATE), RF Test, or related technical fields involving the development, integration, deployment, and troubleshooting of complex test systems.
- Experience with one or more test automation and engineering software platforms such as LabVIEW, TestStand, MATLAB, PathWave, ADS, or similar tools.
- Hands-on experience with RF test and measurement equipment including Vector Network Analyzers (VNA/PNA), Spectrum Analyzers, Oscilloscopes, Signal Generators, and related instrumentation.
- Product development/prototype experience
- Strong understanding of RF and electrical engineering fundamentals, measurement techniques, and system-level troubleshooting.
- Experience developing, integrating, validating, or supporting automated test systems, Automated Test Equipment (ATE), RF test environments, or complex engineering solutions.
- Demonstrated experience leading technical projects, cross-functional teams, or customer-facing engineering efforts.
- Broad systems engineering background with experience spanning hardware, software, electrical, and mechanical elements of complex systems.
- Proven ability to work directly with customers, understand technical requirements, and translate customer needs into practical engineering solutions.
- Strong interpersonal, presentation, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated problem-solving ability and the capability to work independently in a highly technical environment.
- Based on customer requirements, U.S. Citizenship is required. Candidates must also be eligible to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance.
These additional skills are preferred:
- Experience with RF test, RF measurements, microwave systems, radar systems, electronic warfare (EW), satellite communications (SATCOM), or related technologies.
- Experience supporting Aerospace & Defense customers, programs, or products.
- Experience developing custom test systems, automated test equipment (ATE), or integrated test solutions.
- Experience with customer-facing technical leadership, systems integration, or technical consulting engagements.
- Active U.S. Secret or Top-Secret security clearance.
