Role Overview
An opportunity is available for an experienced Technical Writer to support a high-visibility Zero Trust program for a government partner. This role involves working with network, infrastructure, and government technical teams to create technical orders. The position is remote but requires the ability to travel to Hanscom AFB, Massachusetts, approximately twice a month. The work schedule is generally 8 AM to 5 PM EST, with flexibility available.

Key Responsibilities
- Write and edit policies, standard operating procedures, and technical guides to provide clear and accurate documentation.
- Develop Air Force Technical Orders (TOs and TCTOs), Telecommunication Survey Installation Plans (TSIP), and Installation Plans (I-Plans).
- Review existing documents to assess accuracy, compliance, and identify areas for improvement.
- Create visualizations within documentation, such as data flow diagrams, network diagrams, and charts.
- Track and support documentation requirements for the Authorization to Operate (ATO) process.
- Collaborate with various stakeholders to gather, validate, and maintain up-to-date documentation.
- Ensure all documentation meets required standards and regulations.
- Manage multiple documents, versions, and revisions while meeting deadlines.
- Work with the network and infrastructure teams to create technical orders that describe system components like computer switches and firewalls.
Required Qualifications
Experience: A bachelor's degree with 8 years of experience, or equivalent years of experience in lieu of a degree. A minimum of 5 years of focused experience as a Technical Writer is required.
Technical Skills:- Experience developing Air Force Time Compliance Technical Orders (TCTOs), Technical Orders (TOs), Telecommunication Survey Installation Plans (TSIP), and Installation Plans (I-Plans).
- Experience with the eMass system for ATO applications.
- Familiarity with document management systems and tools, such as Microsoft Office Suite.
- Understanding of documentation standards, best practices, and compliance requirements.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and professionalism.
