Summary

Senior Project Manager

Introduction:

The Senior Project Manager at VITA Virginia Commonwealth will be responsible for providing guidance and hands-on support in the design and implementation of grant management systems and business processes. This role will involve working closely with dedicated subject matter experts to assess current work processes and integrate them into a new software platform. The Senior Project Manager will also be responsible for developing and implementing processes within the grants management software, as well as advising the agency on best practices and operational efficiencies.

Responsibilities:

Provide expertise and guidance to support the client in implementing a pilot Grant Management platform
Serve as a subject matter expert in grant management practices and federal uniform guidance standards
Assess current work processes related to grant life cycle and integrate them into the software platform
Develop and implement processes within grants management software
Advise on common/best practices and identify operation efficiencies for grant applications, review, and contract agreements
Assess and advise on grantee invoices, grant accounting, reporting, and monitoring grant expenditures
Work closely with DRPT staff and system vendors to improve workflows and processes
Develop materials to support system changes, policy and procedures changes, and training
Document decision points and obtain approvals
Provide weekly status updates and communicate issues and risks identified

Requirements:

Required Skills:

Project Manager 4 certification
Proven experience in grant management systems and practices
Strong understanding of federal uniform guidance standards
Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Ability to analyze processes and identify efficiencies

Preferred Skills:

Experience working with software platforms for grants management
Knowledge of financial management and reporting
Ability to develop training materials and facilitate workshops
Project management certification (PMP)
