Architectural Governance: Define and enforce system architecture, data flow patterns, and development standards for coding, testing, debugging, and implementation across the electronic trading platform.
Platform Resiliency: Architect and deliver robust, scalable solutions for real-time trading platform monitoring, automated trade reconciliation, and seamless application recovery.
Risk and Control Ownership: Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Client, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.
Qualifications:
10+ years of progressive, hands-on software development experience, with a distinguished track record in building and leading the development of high-performance, ultra-low-latency systems.
Expert-level mastery of Core Java, including a profound understanding of JVM internals, advanced concurrency models, garbage collection tuning, and memory management in a latency-sensitive environment.
Extensive and proven experience architecting and delivering automated trading systems in Equities or similar domains, including smart order routing, benchmark algorithms, and other sophisticated execution strategies.
Deep expertise in financial market protocols (e.g., FIX) and extensive practical experience designing systems to handle high-volume order and market data.
Demonstrated experience in designing and scaling distributed systems using a microservices architecture.
Proven leadership in implementing modern testing frameworks, Agile methodologies, and Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) processes.
Exceptional communication and leadership skills, with the ability to articulate and influence complex technical and business strategy at a senior level.
Significant experience with messaging and data grid technologies (e.g., Solace, AMPS, Chronicle, KDB+), infrastructure automation (e.g., Ansible), or expertise in other high-performance languages like Rust is highly desirable.
Bachelor's degree/University degree or equivalent experience is required; a Master's degree in a relevant technical field is strongly preferred.
