Now Hiring: Senior Electrical Controls Engineer - Direct Hire
Location: Houston, TX
Pay Rate: $130,000 - $150,000/year + Bonus
Take the lead in developing advanced automation, SCADA, PLC, and energy management control systems that power next-generation industrial and energy storage solutions. This is an opportunity for a senior-level engineer to own complex controls projects from concept through commissioning while making a direct impact on system performance, reliability, and customer success.
Job Duties
- Design, develop, and troubleshoot PLC, HMI, SCADA, RTAC, and industrial control systems
- Create controls architecture, functional specifications, and I/O documentation
- Develop and test embedded software and microcontroller-based control solutions
- Design and implement industrial communication networks, including Modbus, MQTT, OPC UA, CAN, EtherCAT, and Profibus
- Create and review electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, BOMs, and technical documentation
- Support integration, factory acceptance testing (FAT), site acceptance testing (SAT), commissioning, startup, and system optimization
- Lead root cause analysis, corrective actions, and controls reliability improvements
- Manage software, firmware, and configuration revision control
- Partner with engineering, manufacturing, quality, field service, and customers to resolve technical challenges
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, or related field
- 5+ years of controls engineering experience
- Strong experience with PLC, HMI, SCADA, instrumentation, and industrial communication systems
- Experience with product development, commissioning, troubleshooting, and testing
- Proficiency with C programming; Python, embedded software, Git, or LabVIEW experience is a plus
- Knowledge of battery energy storage systems (BESS), microgrids, or industrial power systems preferred
- Ability to travel occasionally as needed
