Now Hiring: Senior Electrical Controls Engineer - Direct Hire

Location: Houston, TX

Pay Rate: $130,000 - $150,000/year + Bonus

Take the lead in developing advanced automation, SCADA, PLC, and energy management control systems that power next-generation industrial and energy storage solutions. This is an opportunity for a senior-level engineer to own complex controls projects from concept through commissioning while making a direct impact on system performance, reliability, and customer success.

Job Duties


  • Design, develop, and troubleshoot PLC, HMI, SCADA, RTAC, and industrial control systems

  • Create controls architecture, functional specifications, and I/O documentation

  • Develop and test embedded software and microcontroller-based control solutions

  • Design and implement industrial communication networks, including Modbus, MQTT, OPC UA, CAN, EtherCAT, and Profibus

  • Create and review electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, BOMs, and technical documentation

  • Support integration, factory acceptance testing (FAT), site acceptance testing (SAT), commissioning, startup, and system optimization

  • Lead root cause analysis, corrective actions, and controls reliability improvements

  • Manage software, firmware, and configuration revision control

  • Partner with engineering, manufacturing, quality, field service, and customers to resolve technical challenges


Qualifications


  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, or related field

  • 5+ years of controls engineering experience

  • Strong experience with PLC, HMI, SCADA, instrumentation, and industrial communication systems

  • Experience with product development, commissioning, troubleshooting, and testing

  • Proficiency with C programming; Python, embedded software, Git, or LabVIEW experience is a plus

  • Knowledge of battery energy storage systems (BESS), microgrids, or industrial power systems preferred

  • Ability to travel occasionally as needed
