Overview
We are seeking an experienced
Senior Civil Engineer to support the planning, design, and execution of complex industrial and infrastructure projects. This role will focus on site civil engineering, land development, grading, drainage, roadway design, permitting, and construction support. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with
AutoCAD Civil 3D, civil site development, and multidisciplinary project collaboration.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead civil engineering design efforts for land development, infrastructure, and industrial site projects.
- Manage permitting activities and ensure compliance with applicable regulations and standards.
- Conduct site visits and field inspections to verify construction activities align with engineering plans and specifications.
- Prepare and revise engineering reports, specifications, plans, schedules, cost estimates, and design documents.
- Develop complete civil design packages from conceptual and FEED phases through final construction documents.
- Create and maintain detailed Civil 3D models, including corridors, feature lines, and subassemblies.
- Produce grading, drainage, paving, and roadway designs using Autodesk AutoCAD Civil 3D.
- Establish and verify survey control points and coordinate project layout activities.
- Perform quality reviews of engineering drawings and models to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with project requirements.
- Analyze topographical, geological, hydrological, surveying, and geotechnical data to support project planning and design.
- Develop and maintain Civil 3D templates, standards, and code sets.
- Collaborate closely with project teams, stakeholders, and other engineering disciplines.
- Recommend process improvements and innovative engineering solutions to enhance project execution and efficiency.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited institution.
- 12+ years of experience in site civil engineering and design.
- Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification with progression toward Professional Engineer (PE) licensure.
- Strong proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D.
- Experience with grading, earthwork, drainage, and site development design.
- Experience performing stormwater drainage analysis using Autodesk Storm & Sanitary Analysis (SSA) or similar tools.
- Knowledge of environmental permitting, including NPDES, wetlands, Section 404 permitting, and Phase I Environmental Site Assessments.
- Experience designing site layouts, parking facilities, roadways, access routes, and ADA-compliant infrastructure.
- Experience with roadway and paving design and related specifications.
- Working knowledge of surveying principles, including topographic surveys, boundary surveys, plats, and coordinate systems.
- Understanding of geotechnical considerations related to site preparation, paving, and heavy-haul roadway design.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or strong progress toward licensure.
- Experience with MicroStation, OpenRoads, and/or GeoPak.
- Experience supporting industrial, energy, utility, or large-scale infrastructure projects.
