Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Oracle E-Business Suite (EBS) Database Administrator to support and lead technical upgrade activities for an Oracle EBS 12.1.3 to 12.2.14 (or latest) migration program.
The ideal candidate will have strong Oracle DBA expertise, hands-on experience with EBS technical upgrades, and working knowledge of Supply Chain Management (SCM) and Financials modules to support upgrade, retrofit, testing, and troubleshooting activities.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the end-to-end technical upgrade of Oracle EBS from R12.1.3 to R12.2.14 or the latest.
Perform pre-upgrade assessments, upgrade execution, and post-upgrade validation.
Implement and configure Online Patching (ADOP) architecture.
Manage Oracle database installation, patching, cloning, backup/recovery, performance tuning, and capacity planning.
Support Production, Test, and Development environments.
Upgrade and configure dependent components, including:
BI Publisher
Oracle APEX
Enterprise Command Center (ECC)
Support CEMLI retrofit activities from a technical/database perspective.
Establish and validate pre- and post-upgrade performance baselines.
Implement security hardening, including Oracle Critical Patch Updates (CPUs), data encryption, Data Guard, and RAC where applicable.
Support SSO and IAM integration from a database and technical infrastructure perspective.
Collaborate with functional teams supporting Financials and SCM modules.
Participate in functional, regression, integration, and performance testing.
Provide technical troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, and defect resolution.
Support Hypercare and post-go-live stabilization activities.
Maintain technical documentation, upgrade runbooks, troubleshooting guides, and knowledge-transfer materials.
Required Qualifications:
8 10 years of hands-on Oracle Database Administration experience.
At least one full-cycle Oracle EBS technical upgrade from R12.1.x to R12.2.x; R12.2.14 or latest preferred.
Strong knowledge of Oracle EBS 12.2 architecture, including:
Online Patching (ADOP)
WebLogic Server (WLS)
Dual File System
Strong Oracle Database administration experience with 11g/12c/19c, as applicable.
Experience with:
Database installation and patching
Performance tuning
RMAN backup and recovery
Database troubleshooting
Working knowledge of Oracle EBS SCM modules, including Order Management, Procurement, Inventory, and Financials.
Experience with BI Publisher upgrade/configuration.
Experience with Oracle APEX installation.
Familiarity with Oracle Application Management Suite/Pack (AMS/AMP) for monitoring and incident management.
Experience applying Oracle Critical Patch Updates (CPUs) and security-hardening practices.
Strong troubleshooting and root-cause analysis skills across database, application, and integration layers.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with SSO/IAM integration for Oracle EBS.
Experience supporting global, multi-ledger, and multi-site EBS environments.
Familiarity with Oracle Unified Method (OUM) or similar upgrade/implementation methodologies.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to translate technical issues into business-relevant impacts.
Experience working in structured, phase-gated delivery environments:
Assessment Build Test Cutover Hypercare
Strong collaboration skills across DBA, functional, development, and infrastructure teams.
Important Note:
This role requires primarily technical/DBA-level familiarity with SCM and Financials modules, including an understanding of data flows, dependencies, and upgrade impacts. Functional configuration expertise is not the primary requirement.
