Entry-Level Network Engineer

We are seeking a motivated Entry-Level Network Engineer to join our IT infrastructure team. The ideal candidate will assist with configuring, monitoring, troubleshooting, and maintaining network infrastructure while working with senior engineers and IT teams.

This is an entry-level position and does not require senior-level experience. Candidates with 0–2 years of experience, entry level candidates, internships, academic networking projects, or relevant certifications such as CCNA are encouraged to apply.

This position is designed for entry level candidates and candidates with internships, academic projects, certifications, or hands-on networking experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with the configuration and maintenance of LAN, WAN, and wireless networks.
• Monitor network performance, availability, and connectivity.
• Troubleshoot basic network connectivity and performance issues.
• Assist with configuring routers, switches, firewalls, and access points.
• Support network installation, upgrades, and infrastructure changes.
• Configure and troubleshoot TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, and VPNs.
• Assist with network security and access-control implementation.
• Monitor network devices using network monitoring and management tools.
• Document network configurations, changes, incidents, and procedures.
• Analyze network alerts and escalate complex issues when necessary.
• Work with system administrators, cloud engineers, and IT support teams.
• Participate in network testing, maintenance, and deployment activities.
• Follow IT security policies and network administration best practices.

Required Skills

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Network Engineering, or a related field.
• Strong understanding of networking fundamentals.
• Knowledge of TCP/IP, OSI model, subnetting, VLANs, DNS, DHCP, and VPNs.
• Basic knowledge of routing and switching concepts.
• Familiarity with network troubleshooting tools and methodologies.
• Basic understanding of network security concepts.
• Familiarity with Windows and Linux environments.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively within a technical team.

Preferred Skills

• Knowledge of Cisco networking technologies.
• Familiarity with Cisco IOS and network configuration.
• Exposure to CCNA-level networking concepts.
• Basic knowledge of firewalls, NAT, ACLs, and wireless networking.
• Familiarity with cloud networking concepts in AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
• Exposure to network monitoring tools such as SolarWinds, PRTG, or similar platforms.
• Basic knowledge of network automation using Python or scripting.
• Familiarity with Git/GitHub.
