We are looking for a strong Senior Java Backend Engineer with solid hands-on experience in Java, Spring Boot, microservices, REST APIs, and backend application development. The candidate should have experience building scalable enterprise applications and deploying them to Azure or Google Cloud Platform using modern CI/CD and automation practices.
This is primarily a hands-on Java backend development role, with cloud experience focused on application automation and deployment.
Key Skills & Experience
- 8 10 years of software development experience with strong Java backend expertise.
- Strong hands-on experience with Java 8/11/16/17/21, Spring Boot, and microservices.
- Strong experience designing and developing REST APIs and distributed backend applications.
- Experience with Kafka or similar event-driven/messaging technologies.
- Good knowledge of SQL/NoSQL databases such as Oracle, SQL Server, Cassandra, etc.
- Strong understanding of API security, performance tuning, exception handling, and resiliency.
- Experience with JUnit/JUnit 5, automated testing, Git, and Maven.
- Hands-on experience with CI/CD and automated deployments using Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or similar tools.
- Experience with Terraform / Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
- Practical experience deploying and supporting Java applications in Azure and/or Google Cloud Platform.
- Docker/container experience is preferred.
- Apache Flink or similar stream-processing experience is a plus.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and presentation skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and support scalable Java/Spring Boot backend applications and microservices.
- Develop secure, high-performance REST APIs and event-driven integrations.
- Troubleshoot and optimize backend application performance and production issues.
- Build and maintain automated testing, CI/CD, and deployment processes.
- Support automated application deployments to Azure/Google Cloud Platform using Terraform and CI/CD tools.
- Participate in code reviews, technical design discussions, and Agile/Scrum activities.
- Work closely with architects, product owners, DevOps teams, and other stakeholders.
- Clearly communicate and present technical solutions and recommendations.
Ideal Resource: A strong hands-on Java Backend Engineer with deep Java/Spring Boot/microservices experience who also understands Kafka, CI/CD, Terraform, and deploying applications to Azure or Google Cloud Platform. This is not a Cloud/DevOps Engineer position.
