Job Summary
We are looking for a highly experienced Senior Oracle PL/SQL Developer with 8+ years of strong hands-on development experience and proven expertise in the Banking and Financial Services domain. The ideal candidate must possess excellent SQL/PLSQL programming skills, strong problem-solving abilities, and experience developing and optimizing complex database solutions for banking applications.
Candidates must be strong individual contributors with extensive hands-on coding experience. Profiles focused primarily on DBA activities, production support, or maintenance without substantial development experience will not be considered.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and maintain complex Oracle SQL queries, stored procedures, functions, packages, triggers, and database objects.
- Write advanced SQL queries involving complex joins, analytical functions, subqueries, bulk processing, and large datasets.
- Perform SQL and PL/SQL performance tuning, execution plan analysis, indexing, and query optimization.
- Develop and enhance database components supporting banking applications, financial transactions, account processing, payments, and other core banking functions.
- Analyze complex business requirements and translate them into efficient, scalable database solutions.
- Troubleshoot coding defects, resolve data inconsistencies, and optimize database logic while maintaining data integrity.
- Collaborate with business analysts, application developers, QA teams, and banking stakeholders throughout the development lifecycle.
- Participate in code reviews, unit testing, technical documentation, and deployment activities.
Mandatory Technical Skills
- Oracle SQL and PL/SQL: Expert-level hands-on development experience.
- Strong expertise in complex queries, joins, analytical functions, stored procedures, packages, functions, and triggers.
- Proven experience in query optimization, execution plans, indexing strategies, and performance tuning.
- Strong understanding of relational database concepts, data modeling, transactions, and data integrity.
- Experience handling large volumes of data and developing high-performance database solutions.
- Proficiency in debugging, root-cause analysis, and writing clean, maintainable code.
Mandatory Banking Domain Experience
- Strong, demonstrable experience working on banking or financial services applications.
- Good understanding of banking business processes, financial data, transaction processing, and data accuracy requirements.
- Ability to understand banking-specific requirements and implement them through efficient SQL/PLSQL solutions.
- Experience working on enterprise-scale banking systems is strongly preferred.
