Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Python Developer with strong React front-end and Python back-end development skills to develop, enhance, and maintain AWS-hosted web applications. The ideal candidate will have experience working in enterprise environments, building scalable applications, and collaborating with data modelers, analysts, and business stakeholders across multiple product teams.
The candidate should have strong programming fundamentals, hands-on experience with modern web technologies, database development, and a good understanding of cloud-based application environments.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- 5+ years of professional software development experience in an enterprise environment.
- Strong knowledge of Python programming, object-oriented programming (OOP) principles, and backend development.
- Hands-on experience with Python libraries such as Pandas, NumPy, DateTime, and regular expressions for data manipulation and processing.
- 2+ years of front-end development experience using React.js, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.
- 1+ years of experience working with SQL Server, including writing SQL queries and developing Stored Procedures.
- Experience with version control tools such as Git, Bitbucket, and GitLab.
- Familiarity with Jira for issue tracking and Confluence for technical documentation.
- Experience with testing frameworks such as UnitTest, Pytest, and Jest.
- Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and application performance optimization skills.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving abilities.
Preferred / Nice-to-Have Skills
- Hands-on experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or other cloud environments.
- Exposure to Databricks, Azure Data Factory (ADF), and AWS Glue.
- Understanding of ETL/ELT processes and enterprise data integration.
- Experience working with enterprise data repositories and data governance standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, enhance, and maintain web applications using React.js on the front end and Python on the backend.
- Write clean, reusable, scalable, and maintainable code following established development standards.
- Develop and optimize application components to improve performance, reliability, and scalability.
- Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve application issues to ensure smooth functionality.
- Collaborate with data modelers, business analysts, and product teams to understand requirements and deliver effective solutions.
- Participate in code reviews and contribute to engineering best practices and team standards.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, ensuring alignment with enterprise policies and procedures.
- Support data ownership documentation and establish integrations with enterprise data repositories.
- Ensure compliance with LSEG Data standards, policies, and procedures.
- Adapt to new technologies, tools, and frameworks based on evolving project requirements.
- Continuously enhance technical knowledge and stay current with industry trends and development practices.
- Work effectively within cross-functional teams while promoting inclusive collaboration and clear communication.
Ideal Candidate Profile
A strong full-stack developer with 5+ years of enterprise development experience, solid Python backend expertise, and at least 2 years of React front-end development experience. Candidates with additional exposure to AWS, SQL Server, and data engineering technologies such as Databricks, ADF, and Glue will be preferred.
