Job Overview

We are looking for a UI/UX Developer with strong AS400 experience to join our team on a contract basis. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of modern UI/UX principles along with hands-on experience working with AS400/iSeries applications and legacy systems.

Key Responsibilities

Design and develop intuitive, user-friendly interfaces for enterprise applications
Analyze existing AS400/iSeries applications and identify opportunities for UI/UX improvements
Create wireframes, prototypes, mockups, and user flows
Collaborate with AS400/RPG developers to integrate modern UIs with legacy backend systems
Conduct usability testing and incorporate user feedback into design improvements
Participate in application modernization initiatives involving legacy systems
Ensure consistency, accessibility, responsiveness, and usability across applications
Document UI/UX standards, workflows, and design specifications

Required Skills

Strong experience in UI/UX design and development
Hands-on experience with AS400 / IBM i / iSeries environments
Experience creating wireframes, prototypes, user flows, and mockups
Proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and modern UI frameworks
Experience working with APIs and backend integration
Strong understanding of usability, responsive design, and accessibility

Preferred Skills

Experience with RPG/RPGLE, DB2, CL, or IBM i environments
Knowledge of React, Angular, or similar frontend frameworks
Experience with Figma, Adobe XD, Sketch, or similar design tools
Background in enterprise application modernization projects

Location & Work Model

Hybrid — Linthicum, MD. Candidates must be able to commute to the Linthicum, MD office on a regular basis.
