Summary

Teradata ETL Data Architect

Introduction:

The Teradata ETL Data Architect will play a crucial role in maintaining and optimizing the enterprise data warehouse built on the Teradata ecosystem. They will be responsible for overseeing various aspects of the data warehouse architecture and ensuring its smooth operation.

Responsibilities:

Manage Teradata database including upgrades, provisioning, software maintenance, and scripting
Monitor the health of the Teradata ecosystem and manage Teradata nodes
Administer Teradata Viewpoint and Teradata Tools and Utilities (TTU)
Handle Platform Service Intelligent Monitoring (PSIM) administration and vendor upgrades
Manage workload, backup, and recovery for Teradata
Perform performance tuning and resource optimization
Oversee Extract Transform Load (ETL) processes
Utilize Unix/Linux knowledge and cloud computing fundamentals for resource allocation and networking
Ensure compliance with audits, security plans, and federal requirements
Provide operating system guidance, EDW security expertise, and disaster recovery planning strategies
Monitor platform performance and resolve performance issues

Requirements:

Required Skills:

8+ years of experience with Teradata database
Experience in upgrades, provisioning, software maintenance, and scripting (BASH, Perl, Python, Glink)
Knowledge of Teradata ecosystem health monitoring and node management
Proficiency in Teradata Viewpoint administration and Teradata Tools and Utilities (TTU)
Experience in PSIM administration, vendor upgrades, workload management, backup, and recovery
Expertise in performance tuning, resource optimization, and ETL processes
Unix/Linux knowledge and cloud computing fundamentals
Understanding of audits, security plans, and federal requirements (NIST 800-53, IRS Pub 1075, etc.)

Preferred Skills:

Experience in statistics and analytics
Knowledge of computer networking and disaster recovery
Experience in patch management, software maintenance, and resource allocation
Ability to generate reports and provide insights for decision-making
