JOB DESCRIPTIONCreates and maintains databases for test, development and production environments to support the business. Analyzes, tests, and implements physical database design. Documents environment and maintains current patches. Ensures data recovery, maintenance, data integrity, Audits the current environments, provides capacity planning. Provides technical knowledge working with system administrators, technical managers, developers, and architects.
Typical Day:
- Participate in on-call rotation (every 4 weeks, 7-day coverage).
- Monitor DBA helpdesk and address proactive/reactive alerts.
- Collaborate with internal teams and support ongoing projects (e.g., ADMS AOM, DEMS upgrade).
- Use ServiceNow to manage and fulfill requests.
- Daily tasks include checking emails, resolving tickets, and supporting project needs.
Size of Group/Key Collaborators:
- Will work with 5 DBAs (including Glen Gonsalves).
- Collaborate with various application support teams and project stakeholders.
- Limited development work; scripting and automation are key.

Top Requirements:
- Hands-on experience with SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL, MySQL, MariaDB.
- Performance tuning, patching, database builds.
- Backup and recovery expertise.
- Scripting experience: PowerShell (Windows), KornShell (Unix/Linux).
- Experience with ServiceNow.
Ideal Candidate Background:
5-7 years of hands-on DBA experience preferred.
Experience in utility or SCADA environments is a strong plus.
Ideal Certs:
Microsoft or Oracle certifications (e.g., OCP) are preferred.

Essential Responsibilities
Experience with SQLServer Database Administration for which includes Database Backup and Recovery Performance Tuning and Business Continuity.
Experience with Oracle Database Administration for which includes Database Backup and Recovery, Performance Tuning and Business Continuity.
Consultation: Work cross-organizationally to drive adoption of standard tools, and improved data integrity. Ensure IT solutions have sound data management practices. Provide subject matter expertise and consultation on data aspects of new and/or changing IT solutions.
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor s degree in technology, Science, Business or related field, or 8 years of experience equivalent to the position.
Strong communication skills, effective with varying organizational levels and skill sets.
Strong Relationship Management and collaboration skills, with a track record of working as one team cross-organizationally to drive innovation and business results.
Excellent problem solving, data governance acumen, and analytical skills.
Demonstrated experience with distributed computing, data visualization, data architecture and structure, statistical modeling, and predictive modeling.
Experience with machine learning.
Experience designing, developing and delivering reporting solutions and providing insight to business.
Demonstrated ability to identify and recommend BI solutions to fulfill business requirements.
Preferred Requirements:
Strong technical knowledge of SQLServer database administration for SQLServer 2014,2016,2017, 2019 and 2022.
Strong technical knowledge of Oracle database administration for 12c,19c and 21c.
Experienced with SQLServer Integration Services i.e. SSIS package development and implementation, reporting services.
Experienced with Database replication technologies i.e. mirroring, log shipping, replication
Experienced with Oracle Automatic Storage Management (ASM), RAC and Data Guard technology.
Experienced with Oracle and SQLServer Major Version upgrade
Experienced with T-SQL, PL/SQL, Shell Scripting, PowerShell Scripting
Experienced with Windows/SQLServer Clustering and AlwaysOn Failover Cluster.
Experienced with managing PostgreSQL and MySQL Databases.
