About the Opportunity
We are currently searching for an experienced BIM Manager (architectural design
engineer) to join our growing firm and be a part of an organization that strives to exceed
client objectives and solve their most complex challenges. The ideal candidate comes
with the skills and knowledge to independently design and prepare high-quality
engineering documents for retail, workplace, hospitality, and restaurant projects.
Salary negotiable based on the candidate’s experience and qualifications.
Qualifications – Requirements:
• Applicable experience as a BIM Manager at an architectural engineering
consultancy(ies).
• A Bachelor’s of Science in Engineering degree from an ABET accredited college or
university.
• Existing knowledge of mechanical engineering and familiarity with MEP design and
relevant codes such as IMC, IECC, and Ashrae 90.1.
• Ability to read, interpret, and implement Mechanical design documentation.
• Proficiency in both Revit and AutoCAD.
• Located in or around NYC with the ability to commute into the office and job sites on
a hybrid schedule.
Qualifications – Nice to Have:
• EIT certification or PE license, or on track to obtain licensure.
• Experience in direct communication with project stakeholders including architects,
owners, and other project consultants.
• Ambitions for career advancement including leadership for the Mechanical
engineering discipline.
• Existing knowledge of plumbing design.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Develop, maintain, and enforce BIM/CAD standards, templates, and content
libraries (Revit families, AutoCAD blocks, title blocks) across all engineering
disciplines
• Maintain project templates and ensure consistency across projects (layers, naming
conventions, sheet setups, annotation styles, etc)
• Evaluate, pilot, and implement new BIM/CAD tools and workflows (e.g., clash
detection tools, point cloud/scan-to-BIM software, generative design tools)
• Manage software licensing, deployment, updates, and troubleshooting in
coordination with IT
• Set up and manage project models, worksharing, and Revit central files
• Perform regular Revit model and CAD background setup and updates
• Provide day-to-day BIM/CAD troubleshooting support to engineering staff
• Identify workflow inefficiencies and implement BIM/CAD process improvements to
boost productivity
• Track industry trends and evaluate emerging technologies (AI tools, automation,
etc) for firm adoption
• Liaise with architects, GCs, and other engineering disciplines on model-sharing
protocols and file exchange standards
