Our client, a Medical Center facility under the aegis of a California Public Ivy university and one of largest health delivery systems in California, seeks accomplished Research Grants & Contracts Associate.

- Hybrid schedule, working 2 days onsite per week.
- Work Schedule: Mon – Fri, 08:00am – 05:00pm.
Description:
- Provides analytical, financial, and training support for contract and grant proposal development, grant writing, funding, administration, and budget development.
- Supports pre-award proposal initiatives, post-award fund management, and closeout activities for federal, state, local, and private sponsors.
- Analyzes research funding trends and sources, forecasting, planning, and management of research portfolios.
- Coordinates, identifies, develops, and/or presents proposals, contracts, and other agreements.
- Reviews proposals to ensure institutional compliance and program success.
- Negotiates, administers, and monitors contract and grant awards, ensuring compliance with regulations, terms, and conditions.
- Performs financial management and reporting for grants and contracts.
- Issues and administers subawards and subcontracts.
- Provides support to Research Management Services (RMS) proposal and award teams.
- Supports 6–7 Research Services Coordinators (RSCs) or award team specialists, along with one Team Manager.
- Independently gathers and follows up on proposal and award materials from Principal Investigators (PIs), project collaborators, and subcontractors, including Biosketches, Other Support documentation, and Effort and salary information.
- Initiates the application preparation process.
- Compiles final proposal documents, ensuring proper formatting, compliance with page limits, updated forms and all required proposal components are complete and for submission.
- Supports award completion activities.
- Monitors proposal, award, and reporting milestones for RSCs, Specialists, and PIs.
- Assists in drafting post-award correspondence, including No Cost Extension (NCE) requests, carry-forward requests, and other post-award correspondence as assigned by the RSC or Specialist.
- Develops preliminary proposal budgets.
- Maintains knowledge of federal proposal rules and regulations.
- Proactively manages and maintains the team''s electronic document management system.
Qualifications:
- Candidate should be familiar with Research Administration and proposal submission.
