Summary

Role Summary

We''re looking for a hands-on Staff/Principal Software Engineer to design and build a next-generation AI-enabled platform from the ground up. This is an individual contributor role with strong architectural ownership, working across Java backend services, Edge Computing, AWS, and AI/ML platforms. You''ll collaborate closely with Data Science to build scalable systems for machine learning inference and trust-signal processing.

Key Responsibilities

Design and build scalable backend services using Java Spring Boot and microservices.
Develop end-to-end data pipelines for signal ingestion, processing, storage, and routing.
Build edge-layer solutions using CDN/Edge Computing technologies (Cloudflare Workers, Lambda@Edge, Akamai, etc.).
Develop APIs and integration frameworks for third-party identity and trust providers.
Build data pipelines and platform features supporting ML inference and model integration.
Make architectural decisions around AWS infrastructure, storage, observability, and scalability.
Partner closely with Product and Data Science teams in a fast-paced, startup-like environment.

Required Skills

10+ years of software engineering experience building distributed systems.
Strong hands-on experience with Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs, Microservices, and AWS.
Experience designing systems from 0 to 1 (Greenfield development).
Experience building or supporting AI/ML platforms, feature pipelines, model serving, or Databricks.
Hands-on experience with Edge Computing/CDN technologies (Cloudflare Workers, Lambda@Edge, Akamai, Fastly, etc.).
Strong system design and architecture skills.
Experience using AI-assisted development tools (GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, Cursor, Claude, etc.).
