Why this job is worth considering
Major Tool & Machine is looking to add a Project Engineer to its team in Indianapolis. It\'s a good fit for someone who wants ownership over a project from quote to delivery rather than a narrow slice of it, and who\'s comfortable working across engineering, materials, quality, and the shop floor to get there.
What you\'ll be doing
- Prepare estimates and quote new jobs for RFQs using VISUAL Manufacturing, obtaining material, subcontract, and sublet quotations as needed
- Conduct contract review of technical requirements against the quotation and coordinate order acknowledgment with the CFT Leader
- Complete quality planning for projects and maintain part hierarchy and drawing/revision documentation
- Provide technical support for manufacturing, materials, and subcontract/sublet contracting
- Complete disposition, root cause analysis, and corrective actions for non-conformances
- Create fixture and process drawings as necessary, and review and disposition Engineering Change Requests
- Conduct job release and post-job review meetings, and participate in performance improvement activities with manufacturing personnel
- Review customer change requests, evaluate cost and delivery impact, and notify Sales and incorporate changes as necessary
- Maintain the electronic job folder
What we\'re looking forRequired
- Bachelor\'s Degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or a related field
- Prior engineering experience developing new manufacturing processes for new product launches
- Strong computer literacy along with solid written, verbal, and project management skills
Preferred
- Strong background in machining, blueprint reading, and GD&T
- 3D modeling experience
