Our firm is one of the largest and most respected accounting firms in our region, and we're seeking a Tax Manager to join our growing Tax Division.
The Tax Manager works directly with all levels of the firm - including Associates, Senior Associates, Supervisors, and fellow Managers - to build client relationships through the tax and advisory services we provide. This role calls for professional creativity in handling client matters and offering constructive suggestions to improve client operations in partnership with leadership. The Tax Manager communicates closely with both staff and clients to prepare tax returns effectively, lead teams, resolve complex issues, and represent the firm's values.

Job DetailsPrimary Duties and Responsibilities
- Fast partner track
- Strong technical skills for reviewing complex returns; experience with state nexus, challenging tax issues, and international and/or fiduciary tax a plus
- Manages client relationships and communication
- Conducts technical research and documents conclusions
- Manages the preparation and review process for complex returns in a timely, efficient manner
- Resolves complicated tax issues
- Handles client matters alongside department leadership and decision-makers
- Prepares review notes and trains staff
- Demonstrates strong technical knowledge
- Stays informed on staff work status ahead of planning meetings
- Manages budgets and billing
- Serves as a team player on the Tax Department Leadership Team for internal strategic planning and process improvement
Requirements
- BA/BS in Accounting
- Master's degree in Taxation or Accounting preferred
- Professional certification required (CPA or EA)
- Several years of experience preparing individual and corporate tax returns
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Ability to manage project timelines and proficiency with accounting technology
