The team works closely with clients and legal professionals to effectively manage complex and time-sensitive criminal matters.
The organization is seeking an experienced Legal Assistant / Paralegal – Criminal Law to support attorneys with criminal law matters and daily legal operations. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience supporting New Jersey criminal matters, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work independently while managing multiple responsibilities.
Verifiable New Jersey criminal law experience – REQUIRED
Spanish bilingual – REQUIRED
Prior experience as a Legal Assistant or Paralegal supporting criminal law matters
Must be able to work independently, multitask, and take initiative
Microsoft Word proficiency – REQUIRED
Must be available to work full-time, 5 days/week onsite in Livingston, NJ
No hybrid or remote option
Candidates without verifiable New Jersey criminal law experience will NOT be considered
Provide legal administrative and paralegal support for criminal law matters.
Assist attorneys with case preparation, documentation, and legal filings.
Manage case files, records, and confidential client information.
Prepare and organize legal documents, correspondence, and reports.
Coordinate with clients, courts, and other legal parties.
Maintain accurate case information and track deadlines.
Support attorneys with day-to-day case management.
Manage multiple priorities accurately and professionally.
Verifiable New Jersey criminal law experience.
Prior experience as a Legal Assistant or Paralegal in criminal law.
Strong understanding of criminal law processes and legal documentation.
Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and take initiative.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Proficiency in Microsoft Word.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Bilingual in Spanish – REQUIRED.
Ability to work onsite five days per week in Livingston, NJ.
Experience within a criminal defense law firm environment.
Familiarity with New Jersey court procedures and legal systems.
Experience handling billable legal tasks.
Candidates must meet all mandatory requirements, particularly verifiable New Jersey criminal law experience, Spanish bilingual proficiency, Microsoft Word proficiency, and availability for a full-time onsite schedule in Livingston, NJ.
