Supervising Telecommunications Systems Engineer is responsible for performing a combination of the following essential job functions:
- Plans, assigns, and evaluates the work of a staff of telecommunications engineers engaged in designing and implementing telecommunications systems, such as voice, video, wireless, security, data communication, and other telecommunications projects.
- Supervises and evaluates telecommunications engineering staff to support effective and efficient operations.
- Manages telecommunications projects by coordinating activities and resources to ensure timely completion.
- Develops and monitors project budgets to align costs with operational and project requirements.
- Reviews telecommunications project specifications and coordinates procurement activities related to telecommunications systems and services.
- Develops and implements telecommunications engineering standards and practices to ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and industry requirements.

Requirements REQUIREMENTS TO QUALIFYGraduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's degree* in Electronic or Electrical Engineering or in a related physical science** -AND- five years engineering experience in the planning and design of telecommunications systems. One additional year of the required telecommunications experience may be substituted for each year of college.
LICENSEA valid California Class C Driver License or the ability to utilize an alternative method of transportation when needed to carry out job-related essential functions.
PHYSICAL CLASSPhysical Class 2 - Light: This class includes administrative and clerical positions requiring light physical effort that may include occasional light lifting to a 10-pound limit and some bending, stooping, or squatting. Considerable ambulation may be involved.
