These roles support either base capital projects at existing generation facilities (natural gas and coal) or strategic capital initiatives involving large, complex projects such as renewable energy systems and major infrastructure upgrades. Both positions require strong technical engineering knowledge combined with project management expertise to ensure safe, cost-effective, and timely project execution. This is a 1-year contract role. You will report to the manager.
Key Responsibilities: Lead full lifecycle project management including scope development, execution, and closeout
Validate project justification and ensure stakeholder requirements are incorporated into scope
Manage project budget, schedule, quality, and safety performance
Coordinate procurement activities including hiring engineering consultants, contractors, and ordering materials/equipment
Oversee project execution and conduct periodic field visits to monitor progress
Ensure compliance with contract requirements for vendors, contractors, and suppliers
Review and support design documentation and engineering drawings
Conduct vendor/shop inspections and witness equipment testing when needed
Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, environmental, sourcing, project controls, and engineering teams
Facilitate project closeout and transition to operations teams
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, or related discipline)
5-7+ years of engineering experience (preferred for Level II roles)
Minimum 2+ years of project management experience
Experience in utility, energy, or oil & gas industries preferred
