Overview:We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic intern to join our team for Summer 2026. This internship offers a hands-on learning experience where the intern will gain practical, real-world experience on engineering development programs.
At HiArc, Systems Engineers provide leadership to cross-functional program teams to deliver the technical content, performance, intellectual property, and quality deliverables for new product development programs. They drive the architecture, vision, and design requirements for the product, balancing implementation complexity, risks, manufacturability, serviceability, and quality. Systems Engineers must understand and capture the user needs into system requirements. The System Engineer helps to ensure that the quality targets are satisfied and mitigates technical risks as they arise on the program.
The
Systems Engineer Intern, working closely with experienced engineers, will participate in meaningful assignments and develop valuable skills in a collaborative and supportive environment while contributing to active HiArc projects. This role is ideal for students who are eager to learn, take initiative, and apply classroom knowledge to real business challenges. This internship is designed to provide meaningful learning opportunities while contributing to the success of the team.
Responsibilities:- Support System Integration, Verification, and Validation activities for HiArc Medical Device products.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with engineers and technicians to prototype concepts, execute tests, analyze data, troubleshoot issues, and contribute to product performance improvements.
- Build test setups and explore new ways to validate our systems.
- Assist system engineering testing activities by working with firmware and product designers to troubleshoot and drive system level performance.
- Write basic test execution scripts.
- Document test results and write reports.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:- Actively pursuing a bachelor's in biomedical engineering, Systems Engineering or similar degree with minimum of Freshman year completed.
- Working knowledge of manufacturing processes and material selection for the design and development of electro-mechanical systems.
- Proficient in a variety of rapid prototyping methods.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
- Familiarity with risk management frameworks and tools (e.g. FMEA, Fault Tree Analysis, Hazards risk analysis) is preferred
- Must commit to a minimum of 10 weeks of internship
- Must be authorized to work in the United States. The company will not sponsor work visas or other employment authorization
