Associate Designer
New York, NY | Compensation: $60,000 to $80,000 per year
We are a children\'s apparel company engaged in licensed and private label business with major retailers across the USA. We are seeking an Associate Designer to support the design and development of seasonal apparel collections for the Big Girls licensed business.
Schedule
Primarily on-site in New York, NY, with flexibility to work from home on Fridays.
Compensation
$60,000 to $80,000 per year.
What You\'ll Do
The Associate Designer will support the design and development of seasonal apparel collections, researching current fashion, color, graphic, and market trends relevant to the target customer. This role creates and updates apparel designs, colorways, and presentations using Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop, and collaborates with Senior Designers, Graphic Designers, Merchandising, and Product Development teams to develop design concepts that align with brand guidelines, retailer needs, and seasonal trends. The Associate Designer reviews samples and provides design feedback throughout the development process, organizes and maintains design files, artwork, and seasonal project information, and assists with approvals and revisions to ensure designs meet brand and customer expectations.
Required Qualifications
- 2+ years of apparel design experience
- Proficient in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop
- Strong understanding of fashion trends, color, graphics, and apparel construction
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
- Must be located in the New York, NY area
Preferred Qualifications
- Apparel design experience in children\'s or retail apparel
- Licensed apparel experience
