My client is a nation wide law firm. This role is on site in NYC
As they grow, they are seeking a Managing Partner to serve as the organization's senior-most legal architect and strategic risk authority. This executive will sit at the center of governance, regulatory posture, and long-term enterprise design. The mandate is not simply supervisory - it is transformational.
They are looking for someone who has helped build out a department, understands how to make training documents and implement change, someone who has built out processes and work flows, and understands consumer finance.
This leader will professionalize and future-proof the legal function, bringing structural rigor, disciplined risk calibration, and executive-level judgment to a platform navigating multi-jurisdictional oversight and evolving regulatory scrutiny.
Act as principal legal strategist and trusted advisor to executive leadership and ownership
Shape enterprise-wide governance, ethics, and compliance architecture
Direct regulatory engagement strategy across state and federal frameworks
Oversee complex dispute, escalation, and formal proceeding strategy
Build, mentor, and elevate a sophisticated in-house legal team
Rationalize and manage external counsel relationships with institutional discipline
Embed scalable systems that align legal infrastructure with continued growth and operational velocity
They are seeking a seasoned legal executive with:
10+ years of progressive leadership experience within regulated consumer financial services, specialty finance, or high-exposure litigation environments
Deep fluency in consumer protection statutes, administrative enforcement regimes, and supervisory examinations
Demonstrated credibility interfacing directly with regulators and oversight bodies
Experience leading legal teams across multi-state or national operational footprints
A reputation for steady judgment in high-stakes, reputationally sensitive matters
Enterprise thinker with structural and operational sophistication
Decisive yet measured; capable of exercising authority with discretion
Systems-oriented, with the ability to institutionalize process without impeding commercial agility
Strategic partner who views legal infrastructure as a competitive differentiator
