Analytical Systems Engineer (Software)
The Opportunity
StaffRight Associates is recruiting for an Analytical Systems Engineer (Software) on behalf of a global, multinational engineering and manufacturing organization. The Analytical Systems Engineer (Software) will advance and apply system analysis capabilities within proprietary engineering software used by sales, service, application engineering, and select customers. The focus is the engineering calculations and algorithms behind analytical tools that model products in the field, assess component performance, and support complex engineering decisions.
Blending mechanical engineering knowledge with software development and systems analysis, you will build new analytical capabilities, strengthen existing tools, and support software users and development teams. This highly technical role sits where mechanical engineering, mathematical modeling, and engineering software meet, with plenty of room to grow into other areas. It is a full-time, on-site position in the Greater Akron, Ohio area (North Canton), with relocation assistance provided.
What You'll Do
- Plan and coordinate detailed phases of major software initiatives for system analysis, focused on building new or updated engineering algorithms.
- Refine analytical methods for component modeling, system modeling, equilibrium calculations, and mechanical performance prediction.
- Weigh alternative technical approaches and apply engineering and software best practices to produce accurate, sustainable analytical solutions.
- Research emerging practices in mechanical modeling, engineering analysis, and software development, inside the company and across the industry.
- Assess current and emerging analytical software to decide whether to buy, build, consolidate, upgrade, or retire applications.
- Convert engineering fundamentals and analytical concepts into practical software that delivers measurable value to engineering and business users.
- Follow established engineering and software standards while applying mechanical engineering principles and development methodologies.
- Maintain, enhance, and troubleshoot existing system analysis tools.
- Guide software developers, engineers, internal users, and occasionally customers with technical support.
- Help engineering teams use analytical software effectively and resolve related technical issues.
- Read, interpret, and debug source code across multiple languages and analytical platforms.
- Juggle several development and support efforts while meeting project and business deadlines.
- Partner with cross-functional engineering and software teams to improve analytical capabilities and engineering processes.
What You Bring
