As a Senior Industrial Engineer at Centrus Energy, you'll play a key role in optimizing production operations at our Technology and Manufacturing Center in Oak Ridge, Tennessee. From improving process flow and reducing waste to supporting product launches and scaling manufacturing performance, you'll help drive operational excellence in a high-tech, mission-critical environment where innovation and efficiency go hand in hand.
What You Will Do:You'll analyze and improve manufacturing operations by identifying opportunities to streamline workflows, enhance productivity, and reduce waste across the production environment. Working closely with cross-functional teams, you'll lead initiatives involving plant layout optimization, staffing strategies, process improvements, and value stream mapping to improve availability, performance, and quality metrics. You'll also support product launches, supply chain logistics, and manufacturing planning activities while helping develop and refine manufacturing processes that meet schedule, budget, quality, and safety requirements. Along the way, you'll collaborate with engineering, operations, and quality teams to ensure manufacturing systems remain efficient, scalable, and compliant with industry standards.
We'd Love to Hear from People With: - Bachelor's degree in mechanical, electrical, chemical, industrial, or related engineering discipline
- Five or more years of manufacturing engineering or industrial engineering experience
- Experience with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement initiatives
- Familiarity with manufacturing quality systems such as NQA-1, ISO, or AS9100
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced production environment
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Q security clearance
A Successful Candidate Brings: - Experience with composites manufacturing
- Familiarity with AIAG Core Tools
- Experience performing statistical analysis and interpreting production data
- Project management experience supporting manufacturing or production initiatives
- Experience supporting safety-significant or license-driven manufacturing systems
- Centrifuge manufacturing experience
- Currently possesses a "Q" or "L" clearance
PayEstimated Starting Base Salary Range: $78,581-130,969. This position is Bonus eligible. Centrus considers several factors when extending job offers, including but not limited to candidates' key skills, relevant work experience, and education/training/certifications. While the posted range reflects the anticipated hiring range for this position, compensation above the range may be considered for candidates with exceptional qualifications and directly relevant experience.

This position will require a pre-employment background check and a pre-employment drug test.

This position requires the successful candidate to obtain and maintain a Q security clearance. In addition, once employed, employees will become part of a random drug testing program and may also be tested in the event of any incident causing injury or causing damage to property, or if it is determined that there is a reasonable suspicion the employee is under the influence of drugs or alcohol. This position will require preemployment background check on the part of the Company and in order to receive a Q security clearance, a background investigation by the Federal government. Subsequent Federal government reinvestigations may be required.
