Job Description
We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer, Generative AI Innovation to serve as a hands-on technical leader for Generative AI solutions that create business value for Institutional Banking. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in software engineering, applied AI, cloud services, and modern prototyping and a proven ability to identify opportunities, build proofs of concept, and deliver production-ready AI-enabled applications.
Responsibilities:
- Design, build, and deploy proofs of concept and production-ready Generative AI solutions using modern engineering practices and cloud-native technologies.
- Evaluate, prototype, and validate emerging GenAI capabilities, platforms, tools, and vendors for Institutional Banking use cases.
- Develop AI-enabled applications and workflows using LLMs, Retrieval Augmented Generation, agentic AI frameworks, document intelligence, automation platforms, APIs, and cloud services.
- Translate business ideas into working software through rapid prototyping, experimentation, and demonstrations of viability.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to target high-value opportunities that improve productivity, decisions, client service, efficiency, and risk management.
- Provide technical input and documentation for governance, risk, compliance, model review, and technology approval processes.
- Assist teams with governance submissions and articulate technical approaches, risks, controls, and implementation considerations.
- Research industry trends and vendor capabilities in Generative AI and present findings and recommendations to leadership.
- Design and implement integrations between AI platforms, enterprise systems, and cloud services.
- Establish and promote engineering standards, reusable patterns, and best practices for AI solution development.
- Independently write clean, maintainable, secure, and testable code.
- Create technical documentation, reference architectures, implementation guidance, presentations, and demos to drive adoption.
- Present prototypes, findings, and roadmaps to stakeholders and senior managers.
- Support production deployments, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement of GenAI-enabled solutions.
- Maintain awareness of GenAI-related regulatory, governance, security, and risk considerations and incorporate controls into designs.
- Perform other duties as assigned and comply with organizational policies and procedures.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Proficiency in modern programming languages, frameworks, APIs, and cloud services for web-based or distributed applications.
- Hands-on experience with Generative AI, large language models, and AI-enabled applications.
- Strong problem-solving skills, ability to operate independently, and aptitude for rapid learning of new technologies.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences.
- Proven ownership of complex problems from concept through implementation.
- Experience level: 5+ years of professional software engineering experience.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with Google Cloud Platform (Google Cloud Platform) and/or Microsoft Azure.
- Background implementing or evaluating RAG, agentic AI workflows, document intelligence, or workflow automation platforms.
- Experience in regulated industries and partnership with governance, risk, compliance, security, or legal teams.
- Vendor evaluation experience and the ability to make technical recommendations to leadership.
- Experience supporting proof-of-concept development and innovation initiatives.
