Senior Data Scientist - AI Agents & LLMs

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client that is seeking a Senior Data Scientist - AI Agents & LLMs in Greenwood Village, CO.

Summary:
We're seeking a Senior Data Scientist to design, build, deploy, and evaluate AI agents that leverage large language models, enterprise data, and external tools to automate complex investigations, generate recommendations, and support operational decision-making. This role combines data science, machine learning, software engineering, and generative AI to deliver production-ready AI solutions at scale.

Responsibilities:
* Design and build AI agents using frameworks such as LangGraph or similar technologies
* Develop agent workflows that leverage LLMs, retrieval, tool calling, and enterprise data sources
* Create evaluation frameworks and benchmark datasets to measure agent accuracy and performance
* Improve model and agent quality through prompt engineering, context engineering, and observability analysis
* Deploy and maintain solutions in production environments using modern CI/CD practices
* Partner with engineering, platform, and business stakeholders to deliver scalable AI capabilities

REQUIREMENTS:
* 5+ years of experience in Data Science, Machine Learning, AI Engineering, or a related field
* Hands-on experience building AI agents or LLM-powered applications
* Experience with prompt engineering, retrieval, tool integration, and agent orchestration patterns
* Experience evaluating model or agent performance using defined quality metrics
* Experience working with AWS cloud services
* Experience deploying solutions to production environments
* Strong Python development skills
* Strong SQL and large-scale data analysis experience

Preferred Qualifications:
* Experience with LangGraph, LangSmith, or similar agent frameworks
* Experience with Spark or distributed computing platforms
* Experience integrating AI applications with APIs and external systems
* Knowledge of workflow orchestration tools and modern MLOps practices

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
