Our client, a leading aerospace and defense technology organization, is seeking a Lead Mechanical Design Engineer to join their team. You will be part of the Engineering Department supporting cross-functional teams including Systems Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, and Product Development. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, excellent problem-solving abilities, and outstanding cross-functional collaboration skills that will align successfully within the organization.

Pay Range:$75.00 ?82.00 /hour
What?s the Job?
\t- Lead the mechanical design and development of advanced aerospace components and systems from concept through production. \t
- Perform rotor dynamics, shafting structural analyses, and FEA to support high-performance rotating equipment designs. \t
- Collaborate with systems engineering, manufacturing, quality, suppliers, and customers to ensure design feasibility and compliance with aerospace standards. \t
- Conduct design reviews, risk assessments, and failure mode analyses while developing detailed engineering documentation. \t
- Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership across mechanical design projects.
?What?s Needed?
\t- Bachelor\'s or Master\'s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field. \t
- 5+ years of experience performing Rotor Dynamics analysis, including critical speed prediction, Campbell diagrams (whirl speed maps), and imbalance response analysis for rotating equipment such as fans, compressors, or turbines. \t
- Strong proficiency with ANSYS APDL or ANSYS Workbench, including 1D Beam-based FEA techniques. \t
- Extensive experience in mechanical design engineering within the aerospace industry or a related high-performance engineering environment. \t
- Proven leadership experience leading design reviews, managing engineering projects, and mentoring technical teams.
