Key Responsibilities:- Design, implement, and maintain highly available and scalable database solutions (PostgreSQL, SQL Server, Oracle, or similar).
- Plan and execute database migrations across environments, including on-premises to AWS cloud (RDS/Aurora), version upgrades, and platform migrations with minimal downtime.
- Lead database development, optimization, and automation initiatives to support infrastructure as code and modern DevOps practices.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define database requirements, implement best practices, and ensure data integrity and security.
- Develop and maintain scripts and tools for database automation, monitoring, and performance tuning.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to development teams, ensuring adherence to coding standards and best practices.
- Troubleshoot complex database issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.
- Participate in capacity planning, backup and recovery strategies, and disaster recovery planning.
- Document database architectures, processes, and procedures for knowledge sharing and compliance.
Technical Skills & Competencies:- Strong expertise in database administration and development with PostgreSQL, SQL Server, Oracle, or similar RDBMS platforms.
- Proficient in scripting and automation tools (e.g., PowerShell, Bash, Python) and infrastructure as code frameworks (e.g., Terraform, Ansible, Chef, Puppet).
- Experience with database migration strategies and tools, including schema migrations, data migrations, and cross-platform migrations.
- Hands-on experience with AWS cloud database services, specifically Amazon RDS and Aurora, including provisioning, configuration, monitoring, and optimization.
- Deep understanding of database performance tuning, query optimization, and indexing strategies.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines, version control systems (e.g., Git), and DevOps methodologies.
- Solid knowledge of database security, backup, and recovery best practices.
- Familiarity with cloud database services (AWS RDS, Azure SQL, Google Cloud SQL) is a plus.
Work Experience:- 8-10 years of progressive experience in database development, administration, or technical leadership roles.
- Demonstrated hands-on experience in designing, developing, and automating database solutions in enterprise environments.
- Proven track record of leading or mentoring technical teams in database-related projects.
Educational Background:- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
Achievements & Accomplishments:- Successful delivery of complex database projects with measurable business impact.
- Recognition for process improvements, automation, or technical innovation in previous roles.
