The Facets Developer is responsible for the design, development, maintenance, enhancement, and technical support of solutions within the Cognizant Facets healthcare platform. This role partners with technical, configuration, testing, infrastructure, and business teams to develop and support Facets solutions that meet business and operational requirements with an AI led approach.
Design, develop, enhance, test, and support solutions within the Cognizant Facets healthcare platform, including custom code, integrations, interfaces, and batch processes.
Use approved AI-assisted development tools as part of day-to-day development activities, including requirements analysis, technical design, code development/review, debugging, documentation, unit testing, and test-case generation.
Document technical specifications and data mapping (i.e. user stories)
Translate business requirements and technical requirements into effective technical solutions and support delivery across the full software development lifecycle.
Apply AI-enabled development practices to improve development speed, quality, consistency, and efficiency while maintaining accountability for validation of AI-generated outputs.
Collaborate with technical analysts, configuration analysts, QA/test teams, Product Owners, infrastructure teams, and business stakeholders.
Work as part of an agile scrum team for iterative delivery.
Required skills:
10+ years of experience in C#, .NET
10+ years of experience in Sql Development
10+ years of experience in Facets and good knowledge on Facets Data Model
Experience in database design & functional design
Proficient understanding of code versioning tools such as Git
Solid knowledge of software architecture, object-oriented design, design patterns, and agile best practices
Should be able to execute Unit Testing (Plan, Prepare & Execute)
Demonstrated willingness and ability to use approved AI tools (i.e., Copilot, Claude) as an integral part of software development.
Ability to critically review, validate, test, and take accountability for AI-generated code, documentation, analysis, and other technical outputs.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, collaboration, and documentation skills.
Desired skills:
Strong preference for experience working within an AI-enabled Development Life Cycle (AIDLC) or comparable AI-assisted software engineering model.
Hands-on experience using enterprise-approved generative AI / coding-assistant tools for software development, testing, documentation, agentic workflows, code analysis, or troubleshooting.
Healthcare payer domain knowledge, particularly membership/eligibility, provider, claims, benefits, and billing.
Experience in Creating and updating facets extensions
Experience in Angular
Experience in test management tools like ALM, Rally and Jira
Experience with Agile/Scrum, CI/CD, automated build/deployment practices, and modern development tools.
