Description: Our client is seeking an experienced
Statutory Accounting & State Compliance Manager to support its Insurance Accounting organization on a high-impact contract engagement. This hands-on role will lead state regulatory compliance activities across multiple insurance entities, ensuring the timely and accurate completion of statutory filings, Bluebook reporting, and related regulatory requirements.
The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in insurance statutory accounting, state regulatory filings, and hands-on experience with
Sovos Wings. This individual must be comfortable owning the compliance calendar, managing competing deadlines, and independently driving deliverables with minimal oversight. The successful candidate will also support process documentation, knowledge transfer, and transition activities to internal teams.

Responsibilities: - Lead and execute state regulatory compliance and sundry filing activities across multiple insurance entities.
- Own and manage the filing calendar, ensuring all regulatory deadlines are met.
- Prepare, review, and submit state insurance regulatory filings and related documentation.
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders to gather supporting information required for filings.
- Investigate and resolve filing issues, regulator inquiries, and follow-up requests.
- Monitor compliance requirements across various jurisdictions and ensure adherence to applicable regulations.
- Provide hands-on statutory accounting support to the Insurance Accounting team.
- Document key processes and controls to support knowledge transfer and operational continuity.
Experience Requirements: - 7+ years of insurance accounting experience with a strong focus on statutory accounting (Bluebook reporting)
- Hands-on experience with Sovos Wings
- Experience preparing and managing state insurance regulatory filings and sundry filings
- Strong knowledge of insurance regulatory compliance requirements
- Ability to independently manage filing calendars, deadlines, and deliverables across multiple entities and jurisdictions
- Excellent communication, documentation, and process improvement skills
- Experience with SAP preferred
Education Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
