We are seeking a Market Data Financial Operations Analyst to support market data financial operations, vendor management, market data governance, and financial reporting within a global financial services environment.
The ideal candidate will have experience working with market data operations, financial analysis, billing and invoice reconciliation, vendor management, and market data management platforms. Experience with FITS and financial systems such as PeopleSoft is highly preferred.
This role requires a detail-oriented professional who can work effectively with Finance, Procurement, Technology, Market Data, and external vendors to ensure accurate billing, strong financial controls, and effective market data governance.
Manage market data financial operations across a global vendor portfolio, including:
Invoice processing and reconciliation
Billing validation
Accruals
Forecasting and budgeting
Variance analysis
Financial reporting
General Ledger (GL) allocation
Maintain and administer the Market Data Management (MDM) platform.
Maintain accurate market data inventory, vendor records, services, subscriptions, and ownership information.
Support market data entitlement administration and onboarding/offboarding activities.
Monitor vendor spend and identify billing discrepancies, pricing issues, and cost-management opportunities.
Partner with internal stakeholders and external market data vendors to research and resolve invoice and billing discrepancies.
Validate vendor contracts, pricing, services, and billing terms.
Support audits, financial controls, regulatory reporting, and market data governance activities.
Prepare recurring and ad hoc management reports covering:
Market data spend
Budget vs. actuals
Variance analysis
Vendor costs
Operational metrics
Financial trends and insights
Analyze high-volume financial and operational data to identify discrepancies, trends, and opportunities for cost optimization.
Support market data inventory governance and ensure data and vendor information remains accurate and current.
Contribute to process-improvement initiatives that improve financial controls, operational efficiency, market data governance, and service quality.
Collaborate with Finance, Procurement, Technology, Operations, and other stakeholders to improve transparency and control over market data expenditures.
3–7+ years of experience in market data administration, market data operations, financial operations, accounting, billing, vendor management, or a related financial services environment.
Strong experience with:
Invoice reconciliation
Billing validation
Accruals
Budgeting and forecasting
Variance analysis
Financial reporting
High-volume invoice processing
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including:
Pivot Tables
VLOOKUP / XLOOKUP
Data analysis and reconciliation
Experience with Market Data Management (MDM) platforms; FITS is highly preferred.
Experience with ERP, Accounts Payable, or financial systems such as PeopleSoft.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to investigate financial discrepancies and identify root causes.
Excellent organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work effectively with internal stakeholders and external vendors.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to financial accuracy, governance, and operational controls.
Experience working within investment banking, capital markets, asset management, or other financial services organizations.
Experience working with market data vendors and subscription-based market data services.
Knowledge of exchange reporting requirements and market data compliance obligations.
Experience with market data inventory and entitlement governance.
Experience supporting vendor contract and pricing validation.
Experience identifying market data cost savings and optimization opportunities.
Experience supporting financial controls, audits, and operational governance initiatives.
Experience with FITS / Market Data Management platforms.
