Project Controls / Financial Analyst - Temporary Contract
Pay Rate: $33-$48/hour

Location: Laurel, MD

Schedule: Monday-Friday | Flexible Start Times (6:30 AM-3:00 PM or 10:00 AM-6:00 PM)

Contract Length: 12 Months

Are you a detail-oriented finance professional with experience in project controls, financial analysis, and forecasting? Join a dynamic team supporting complex programs where your expertise in budgeting, reporting, and cost analysis will directly contribute to successful project outcomes.

We are seeking a Project Controls / Financial Analyst to support financial management activities, program reporting, cost analysis, and business operations for a large-scale organization. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys analyzing data, collaborating with project teams, and turning financial information into actionable insights.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and analyze program financial performance, budgets, forecasts, and actual costs.

  • Partner with Program Managers to review financial status and support business decisions.

  • Prepare monthly financial reports, presentations, and ad hoc reports.

  • Use financial systems and Microsoft Excel to analyze costs, trends, and projections.

  • Support proposal development, cost estimating, and resource planning activities.

  • Review project expenses, task plans, and resource requirements to support accurate forecasting.

  • Assist with contract administration, funding questions, and internal/external program reviews.

  • Maintain clear financial documentation and reporting processes.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field required.

  • 2+ years of experience in financial analysis, project controls, budgeting, forecasting, or financial reporting.

  • Experience with Microsoft Excel, including formulas, lookups, pivot tables, and data analysis.

  • Strong analytical skills with excellent attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.

  • Experience with Oracle Financial Systems or similar financial platforms preferred.

  • Government contracting, project controls, or resource analyst experience preferred.
