ABOUT THE PROJECT
Our client is preparing to launch a major modernization initiative within a mission-critical enterprise integration environment supporting hundreds of healthcare workflows.
As part of this initiative, a dedicated engineering team will migrate a large portfolio of existing integration pipelines to Mirth Connect, rebuilding transformation logic, channel configurations, and customer-specific integrations while maintaining the integrity of complex healthcare data exchanges.
This is a substantial, multi-month migration spanning a high volume of inbound, outbound, and file-based integrations, giving the project team exposure to a wide range of technologies, integration patterns, and technical challenges.
ABOUT THE ROLE
We're looking for Mirth Conversion Engineers who enjoy hands-on development, solving integration challenges, and seeing tangible progress from the work they build.
You'll be part of the core engineering team responsible for translating existing interfaces, transformation logic, customer-specific configurations, and channel behavior into Mirth Connect.
Rather than maintaining the same handful of interfaces, you'll work across a broad and technically diverse integration environment and play a direct role in moving a major enterprise modernization forward.
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING
- Build, configure, and convert integration channels within Mirth Connect
- Recreate existing interface and transformation logic within the target environment
- Convert customer-specific configurations and override logic
- Develop and modify transformation logic using JavaScript and Lua
- Work with PostgreSQL as part of integration and data-processing workflows
- Develop and support integrations utilizing HL7 and X12
- Analyze existing interface behavior and translate requirements into reliable Mirth implementations
- Troubleshoot data mapping, transformation, connectivity, and configuration issues
- Partner with senior integration engineers to implement shared frameworks and migration standards
- Work closely with QA and validation engineers to investigate discrepancies and resolve defects
- Support testing, migration readiness, and production cutover activities

- Have hands-on experience building and configuring channels in Mirth Connect
- Have experience converting, rebuilding, or implementing enterprise interfaces
- Know your way around healthcare integration standards such as HL7 and X12
- Bring strong JavaScript skills
- Have experience working with Lua
- Have experience working with PostgreSQL
- Understand data mapping, transformation, and interface configuration
- Can dig into existing integration logic, understand how it works, and accurately recreate expected behavior
- Enjoy troubleshooting complex technical problems and figuring out why something isn't behaving as expected
- Thrive in a collaborative project environment where you can take ownership and see the impact of your work
Healthcare integration experience and previous involvement in large-scale interface conversion or migration initiatives will be especially valuable.
