Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Process Safety Consultant with strong hands-on expertise in Bowtie Analysis, Barrier-Based Risk Management, HAZOP, and HAZID facilitation. The ideal candidate will have practical experience leading process safety workshops and working directly with multidisciplinary client stakeholders.

This role is best suited for a consultant who has personally developed and facilitated Bowtie workshops, rather than someone whose experience is limited to reviewing Bowtie studies or advising on methodology.

Required Qualifications

• CCPS Certified Process Safety Professional (CCPSC) certification.
• Professional Process Safety Engineer / Consultant (PPSE) certification or equivalent credentials.
• Strong practical experience with Bowtie Analysis and Barrier-Based Risk Management.
• Proven experience developing and facilitating Bowtie workshops.
• Hands-on experience facilitating HAZOP and HAZID sessions.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary process safety and risk assessment workshops.
• Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills.
• Ability to work directly with client teams and facilitate technical risk discussions.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and facilitate Bowtie Analysis workshops with client stakeholders.
• Lead Barrier-Based Risk Management assessments.
• Facilitate HAZOP and HAZID workshops.
• Identify hazards, threats, consequences, and critical barriers.
• Work with multidisciplinary teams to develop and validate risk controls.
• Document workshop findings, recommendations, and risk-control measures.
• Engage with client stakeholders to ensure effective implementation of process safety recommendations.
• Support process safety and risk management initiatives across client projects.
• Travel to West Coast client locations approximately 25% of the time.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate is a hands-on Process Safety Consultant who has actually led Bowtie development and facilitated multidisciplinary risk workshops with client stakeholders.

Strong preference for candidates with direct workshop facilitation experience rather than candidates whose experience is primarily advisory or review-based.
