SAP BTP lead/Architect with Microsoft Fabric
Long Term Contract
Remote
Project Overview
This resource will be dedicated primarily to the Invoice-to-Pay (I2P) project.
The team requires a niche combination of SAP BTP and Microsoft Fabric expertise. The selected resource will be responsible for connecting SAP data with the Microsoft Fabric environment.
The manager is seeking a hands-on Solution Architect who can translate business requirements into practical, usable technical designs. This is not a strategy-only or theoretical architecture role. The architect will actively support:
- Solution design
- Configuration planning
- Data virtualization
- Implementation activities
The resource will help design how SAP data is virtualized within Microsoft Fabric and communicate technical recommendations to teams working across both platforms.
While the I2P project will be the primary focus, the team also supports a broader portfolio of Procure-to-Pay (P2P) and Microsoft Fabric initiatives. The resource may contribute to these projects when capacity allows.
Required Experience
Please prioritize candidates with practical experience in:
- SAP BTP, including SAP Datasphere
- Microsoft Fabric
- SAP data virtualization
- Data integration across SAP and Microsoft environments
- Hands-on solution architecture
- Architecture design and implementation support
- Cross-functional technical discussions
- Invoice-to-Pay (I2P) or Procure-to-Pay (P2P) processes
Candidate Profile Expectations
The manager recognizes that this is an uncommon hybrid skill set.
The team currently has limited capacity in SAP BTP and SAP Datasphere, while the Microsoft Fabric practice is still growing. Candidates do not need identical levels of expertise across both platforms and may be stronger in one area than the other.
However, candidates must:
- Have a working foundation in both SAP BTP and Microsoft Fabric
- Be comfortable learning and developing skills in their weaker area
- Demonstrate direct experience with each platform
Candidate summaries should clearly describe:
- Their SAP BTP experience
- Their Microsoft Fabric experience
- Specific solutions they designed, configured, or implemented
- Their role and level of involvement in those solutions
Team Structure and Decision-Making
The architect will join a cross-functional product team supporting the I2P initiative.
The team includes:
- SAP Engineers
- Microsoft Engineers
- Architecture Owners
- Finance Product Manager
Candidates should be comfortable:
- Presenting technical recommendations
- Collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders
- Receiving feedback
- Refining designs based on team input
Location and Working Hours
- No strict on-site requirement
- Candidates who can align with Central Time (CT) business hours are strongly preferred
- Candidate location and working-hour availability must be confirmed before submission
Candidates located near:
- Wayzata, Minnesota
- Atlanta, Georgia
may have an advantage due to closer collaboration opportunities with the team.
Assignment Duration
The current assignment end date aligns with the end of the fiscal year.
However, the manager confirmed that this is not considered a firm project end date. The I2P initiative has an extensive and iterative roadmap, and the engagement may extend beyond the current term.
Any extension will depend on:
- Project needs
- Available funding
- Resource performance
-
