Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Senior SAP Technical Lead to lead technical delivery for SAP S/4HANA Brownfield Migration and transformation projects within an Aerospace & Defense (A&D) client environment.
The ideal candidate must have successfully completed 2–3 SAP S/4HANA Brownfield Migration projects and possess strong hands-on ABAP development and custom code remediation experience.
This role requires a combination of technical leadership, solution architecture, hands-on development, migration expertise, and stakeholder management. The candidate will lead onsite and offshore technical teams while working closely with business stakeholders, functional consultants, architects, and development teams.
Key Responsibilities
1. Technical Leadership & Solution Architecture
Lead technical design, architecture, and development of SAP solutions.
Define technical standards, development frameworks, and best practices.
Translate functional requirements into technical specifications.
Lead technical assessments, code reviews, and custom code remediation.
Ensure solution scalability, security, performance, and maintainability.
2. SAP Development & Integration
Lead development activities across SAP S/4HANA, ECC, ABAP, Fiori/UI5, and SAP BTP.
Oversee custom developments, enhancements, reports, interfaces, forms, and workflows.
Design and manage integrations between SAP and non-SAP applications.
Work with APIs, IDocs, OData, RFCs, REST/SOAP services, and middleware.
Troubleshoot complex technical issues and drive resolution.
3. S/4HANA Brownfield Migration
Lead technical activities for SAP ECC to S/4HANA Brownfield conversions.
Perform custom code analysis, remediation, and compatibility assessments.
Support integration redesign and technical readiness assessments.
Collaborate on data migration, conversion, validation, and reconciliation.
Participate in mock conversions, cutover planning, dress rehearsals, and go-live activities.
4. Project Delivery & Governance
Lead technical workstreams from project initiation through deployment and support.
Develop technical estimates, project plans, and resource requirements.
Manage project risks, issues, dependencies, and delivery milestones.
Coordinate onsite, offshore, and vendor teams.
Provide regular technical updates to project leadership and stakeholders.
5. Team Leadership & Production Support
Lead, mentor, and guide SAP technical consultants and developers.
Drive knowledge transfer and technical best practices.
Lead root cause analysis and production issue resolution.
Identify opportunities for performance optimization and automation.
Required Qualifications & Must-Have Skills
10–15+ years of overall SAP technical experience.
Must have completed 2–3 SAP S/4HANA Brownfield Migration projects.
6–8+ years of SAP technical team or workstream leadership experience.
Strong hands-on ABAP and OO ABAP development experience.
Hands-on experience with custom code analysis and remediation.
Proven experience leading SAP implementation, migration, and transformation projects.
Strong technical architecture and solution design capabilities.
Experience managing onsite and offshore delivery teams.
Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
Strong documentation, planning, organization, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to lead technical discussions and manage challenging client stakeholders while remaining hands-on.
