Job Summary
We are seeking a Senior SAP ABAP Lead to provide technical leadership and governance across multiple SAP delivery streams, including AMS, project implementations, enhancements, and support. The role requires strong hands-on ABAP development expertise along with the ability to govern multiple teams, enforce technical standards, review solution designs, coordinate delivery, and ensure quality across SAP ECC and S/4HANA environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and govern multiple SAP ABAP teams across AMS, projects, enhancements, and transformation initiatives.
- Establish ABAP development standards, coding guidelines, code reviews, and quality controls.
- Remain hands-on with complex ABAP development, troubleshooting, and performance optimization.
- Review technical designs, development estimates, solution approaches, and technical deliverables.
- Oversee development involving ABAP Objects, Reports, Enhancements, BAdIs, Forms, IDocs, RFCs, BAPIs, OData, CDS Views, and AMDP.
- Coordinate delivery activities, resource allocation, technical risks, and dependencies across teams and vendors.
- Support critical production issues and ensure adherence to transport and release management processes.
- Collaborate with functional teams, architects, project managers, and business stakeholders.
- Mentor developers and drive continuous improvement, reusable components, and S/4HANA modernization.
Required Qualifications
- 10+ years of SAP ABAP development experience.
- Strong hands-on experience with SAP ECC and S/4HANA.
- Proven experience leading multiple ABAP development teams across AMS and project environments.
- Strong knowledge of ABAP Objects, Enhancements, BAdIs, OData, CDS Views, AMDP, interfaces, and performance tuning.
- Experience with technical design reviews, code governance, estimation, and release management.
- Excellent stakeholder communication, team coordination, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to support Central Time business hours.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in SAP S/4HANA implementation or transformation programs.
- Exposure to Fiori, SAPUI5, RAP, ABAP Cloud, and Clean Core principles.
- Experience managing distributed teams and multiple vendor delivery streams.
- SAP ABAP or S/4HANA certifications.
