Senior Cloud Application Engineer

Overview
We are seeking a Senior Cloud Application Engineer (Windows/.NET Cloud Migration) to support the migration and modernization of enterprise applications into AWS. This individual will partner with engineering, infrastructure, and DevOps teams to migrate legacy Windows-based applications, optimize cloud environments, and improve scalability, security, and reliability across a complex enterprise ecosystem.
The ideal candidate combines strong Microsoft development experience with cloud migration expertise and enjoys solving complex technical challenges across both application and infrastructure layers.
What You''ll Do
- Lead the migration of Windows/.NET applications from a legacy hosting environment into AWS.
- Assess existing application architecture and recommend migration and modernization strategies.
- Configure and administer Windows Server and IIS environments within AWS.
- Deploy and support workloads using AWS services including EC2, ECS/Fargate, and S3.
- Containerize applications using Docker where appropriate.
- Troubleshoot application, infrastructure, and deployment issues throughout the migration lifecycle.
- Partner closely with architects, DevOps engineers, infrastructure teams, security teams, and application developers.
- Participate in technical planning, architecture discussions, and production deployments.
- Develop technical documentation, migration runbooks, and operational procedures.
- Identify opportunities to improve application performance, scalability, and operational efficiency.
What You''ll Need
- 5+ years of experience developing or supporting enterprise .NET applications.
- Strong experience with:
- C#
- .NET Framework
- Experience administering:
- Windows Server
- IIS
- Hands-on AWS experience including:
- EC2
- ECS/Fargate
- S3
- Experience with Docker and containerized deployments.
- Strong understanding of cloud migration methodologies.
- Experience troubleshooting enterprise applications and distributed systems.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and documentation skills.
Nice to Have
- Experience migrating applications from Rackspace or other legacy hosting providers.
- Infrastructure as Code (Terraform or CloudFormation).
- AWS Certifications.
- Experience working in highly regulated or secure enterprise environments.
