Job Title: Senior Conversion Data Analyst
Location: Remote
Notes: Candidates should be able to travel 2-3 days per quarter to Springfield, IL, as per client requirements and project Needs. They also need to travel to Springfield or Chicago, IL, for fingerprinting.
Job Description:
Position Description: The Senior Conversion Data Analyst will lead efforts in data profiling, ensuring a thorough understanding of source and target data structures. The role emphasizes defining and validating data conversion technical requirements, while implementing robust data quality frameworks to maintain accuracy and consistency throughout the conversion process. With strong analytical and communication skills, the analyst will collaborate across technical and business teams to ensure seamless execution of data migration initiatives, supporting organizational goals through high-integrity, data-driven decision-making.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
Data Profiling & Analysis: Conduct in-depth data analysis to identify trends and patterns to guide data cleanup and improve data quality & governance.
Source-Target Mapping: translate legacy data structures to future-state data model, producing clear & traceable documentation of data conversion requirements inclusive of any gaps or model inconsistencies.
Stakeholder Communication: Translate complex technical and analytical concepts into simple, actionable insights for business stakeholders. Provide regular updates, reports, and presentations to ensure alignment.
Agile Delivery: Actively participate in Agile ceremonies, contributing to backlog refinement, sprint planning, and iteration reviews. Partner with Product Owners, Scrum Masters, and technical teams to deliver high-quality solutions on time.
Technical & Functional Collaboration: Engage in discussions with data engineers, architects, and business users to ensure accurate understanding of both functional requirements and underlying technical components.
Process & Data Quality Improvement: Recommend and implement improvements in data quality, governance, and operational processes to enhance data reliability and usability.
Highly skilled in leveraging advanced Excel capabilities such as Power Pivot, Power Query, DAX, dynamic arrays, and VBA to build prototype data models, profile & document data models automate complex workflows, and deliver actionable insights, guide data cleanup activities or inform process changes to enable ongoing data activity.
Documentation & Knowledge Sharing: Maintain detailed documentation data profiling exercises, translate business requirements to technical requirements enabling developers to build ETL pipelines and prepare presentations for recommended improvements.

Advanced Excel skills are required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Agile Expertise: Extensive experience working within Agile frameworks, including writing user stories and defining acceptance criteria.
Data Conversion Projects: Proven experience leading or supporting large-scale data conversion, migration, or transformation projects.
Knowledge & Experience converting IMS/DB2 Data Structures to SQL:
o BM IMS/DB2 Data structures
o Human Services experience desired (e.g. Childcare, Healthcare)
Advanced SQL Proficiency: Expertise in SQL for data extraction, joins, aggregations, and performance tuning.
Advanced Excel & BI Tools: Advanced expertise in Excel (complex formulas, pivot tables, macros) and/or BI tools.
Data Governance: Experience with data governance, data quality frameworks, and metadata management is advantageous.
Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills: Exceptional critical thinking and problem-solving capabilities, with a focus on delivering actionable insights.
Communication Skills: Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex technical concepts for diverse audiences.
Organization & Independence: Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple priorities independently in fast-paced environments.
