Duration: 12+ MonthsJob Description:Client is scaling its AI and software engineering capabilities as part of a broader modernization and “rewire” initiative across infrastructure systems. This role is for a senior, hands-on software engineer who will contribute to building new application functionality while integrating with complex legacy systems.
Responsibilities:- Design, develop, test, and deploy scalable, production-ready software applications in cloud-based environments.
- Develop backend services, REST APIs, and application components using Python and other modern programming languages.
- Write complex SQL queries, optimize database performance, and support data modeling and integration.
- Modernize legacy applications by migrating existing systems and integrating them with cloud-native platforms.
- Build and enhance frontend components using modern JavaScript frameworks as needed.
- Develop and maintain applications on AWS and/or Google Cloud Platform, following cloud-native architecture and development practices.
- Collaborate with product managers, architects, and engineering teams to define requirements and deliver solutions.
- Troubleshoot technical issues, improve application performance, and ensure code quality, scalability, and maintainability.
- Work independently in a fast-paced environment, adapt to evolving requirements, and quickly learn new technologies.
Experience:- 10+ years of hands-on software engineering and application development experience.
- Strong experience in Python development, backend engineering, API development, and SQL.
- Proven experience developing and deploying applications on AWS and/or Google Cloud Platform.
- Experience modernizing legacy applications, migrating workloads to the cloud, and integrating legacy systems with modern platforms.
- Experience building enterprise-grade applications in product-oriented engineering environments
Skillset:- Strong programming experience in Python and/or other modern backend languages such as Java, Node.js, or C#.
- Hands-on experience designing and developing RESTful APIs and backend services.
- Strong SQL skills, including complex queries, database optimization, and data modeling.
- Experience with AWS and/or Google Cloud Platform cloud services and cloud-native application development.
- Working knowledge of frontend technologies such as JavaScript, TypeScript, React, or similar frameworks.
- Experience with application modernization, legacy system integration, and cloud migration.
- Familiarity with Git, CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and Agile software development practices.
Education:- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
Additional Qualifications:- Google Cloud Platform experience is preferred; AWS experience is also highly relevant.
- Exposure to distributed systems, microservices architecture, and scalable application design.
- Experience working with enterprise legacy applications and transitioning them to modern cloud platforms.
- Exposure to AI-enabled or data-driven applications is a plus; direct AI/ML model development is not required.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work independently, manage ambiguity, and deliver solutions with minimal supervision.
