RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client that is seeking a Full Stack Engineer for a 6-month contract role. This is a fully remote position, but candidates must be available to work Arizona business hours.
Overview:
We are seeking a Full Stack Engineer to join a high-impact technology team focused on modern cloud solutions, application development, platform engineering, and operational excellence. This is an opportunity to work on enterprise-scale systems, support modernization initiatives, and help drive automation and innovation across a growing technology environment.
As a Full Stack Engineer, you will contribute across the software development lifecycle, supporting both backend and frontend applications while partnering with engineering and operations teams to improve platform reliability and scalability.
Key Responsibilities include:
* Design, develop, test, and maintain full stack applications and services
* Build and support cloud-native solutions within AWS environments
* Develop backend services and user-facing applications using modern programming languages and frameworks
* Create and maintain APIs, integrations, and service documentation
* Support application deployments, platform migrations, and automation initiatives
* Participate in incident response, troubleshooting, and production support activities
* Identify and remediate security vulnerabilities, apply patches, and support modernization efforts for legacy applications
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve operational processes and platform performance
* Utilize AI-assisted development tools to improve code quality, productivity, and documentation
* Contribute to technical documentation, knowledge-sharing, and continuous improvement initiatives
REQUIREMENTS:
* Professional experience in AWS and cloud/platform engineering
* Strong development experience with Java and/or JavaScript
* Experience with backend development, frontend/UI development, testing, and API design/documentation
* Hands-on experience supporting application deployments, automation, and migration initiatives
* Experience responding to production incidents and providing operational support
* Knowledge of application security, vulnerability remediation, patch management, and modernization projects
* Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools and documentation practices
* Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills
* Customer-focused mindset with the ability to collaborate effectively across technical and non-technical teams
Preferred Qualifications:
* Experience with Kubernetes and Amazon EKS
* Experience with Kafka, Amazon MSK, and schema management solutions
* Experience building developer portals or self-service engineering platforms
* Server administration and maintenance experience
* Experience with Jira, Jira Service Management, Confluence, and Bitbucket
* Salesforce integration or platform experience
* Experience supporting document management systems or modernizing legacy enterprise applications

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
