The role focuses on hands-on administration of Commvault and related enterprise backup technologies, with an emphasis on reducing operational risk through stronger processes, cleaner configurations, and well-maintained documentation.
Responsibilities:
Oversee the daily administration, monitoring, and support of the existing Commvault backup platform to maintain dependable system performance.
Identify operational weaknesses within the backup environment and implement practical improvements that increase consistency and service reliability.
Review current configurations, policies, and job activity to resolve inefficiencies, strengthen protection coverage, and improve backup success rates.
Create and refine technical documentation, operating procedures, and support guidelines to establish a more organized and sustainable backup practice.
Troubleshoot backup failures, restore issues, and platform-related incidents, driving timely resolution and minimizing disruption to the business.
Partner with internal stakeholders to promote stronger operational standards and provide guidance on enterprise backup best practices.
Assess areas of risk across the data protection environment and recommend corrective actions that improve readiness for future platform changes or migration efforts.
Support compliance-focused backup operations by aligning processes with data protection requirements such as GDPR where applicable.
Requirements

Demonstrated expertise working with Commvault in complex production environments.
Solid understanding of enterprise backup technologies, recovery workflows, retention strategies, and data protection operations.
Experience improving technical documentation, operational procedures, and system configuration standards.
Proven ability to diagnose and resolve backup platform issues in a fast-paced enterprise setting.
