Job DescriptionThe supports the business operations of state agencies through a variety of services, including building management and maintenance, information technology, centralized contracting and procurement, budget and financial management, space planning and leasing, construction management, motor vehicle fleet operations, and oversight of the state retirement systems. This position is with the Agency Services area of DTMB.
As a Database Administrator, the employee performs a complete range of information system database analyst assignments including, but not limited to, designing, developing, testing, and implementing SQL Server database systems for test and development environments within MDHHS. Under the guidance of a senior-level DBA, this position will perform database administration tasks and duties such as database installation and configuration, database design, development and deployment, database performance monitoring, tuning and troubleshooting, database security design and implementation, database backup, recovery and data management. This position will be involved in implementing flexible, scalable, and reliable database environments primarily on Windows platforms, via standard data management practices applied to database software configuration, migrations, upgrades and management, database hardware/software integration, database security, disaster recovery, and database performance tuning.
DTMB does not participate in STEM-OPT. ITPA P11 -- SIGNING BONUS:This position may be eligible for a sign-on bonus of up to $2,500. Up to $1,250 to be paid upon new hire and the remainder to be paid after satisfactory completion of the initial probationary period (12-month period). This does not apply to current state employees.
Position Location/Remote Office: The office location is Lansing, MI. The State of Michigan is not able to offer employment to out-of-state applicants that do not plan to relocate. The Department of Technology Management and Budget currently offers a hybrid work option which requires two days working on-site at the official work location and three days of remote work per week.

Vacation and Sick Leave: Eligible full-time employees receive between
