Summary

Title: Product Owner (Data Quality)

Location: 100% Remote (Must live in EST Time Zone only) - W2

Duration: 6 Month+ Contract w/ Right to Hire only on w2

Manager Notes;

Own the data quality and governance product roadmap defining priorities, backlog, and delivery plans that align with the business needs.
Lead implementation and continuous improvement of data quality and governance frameworks, including data standards, rules, monitoring, remediation processes, and stewardship models to ensure trusted, reliable data across key supply chain domains.
Drive adoption and optimization of core data platforms and tools (Informatica IICS, Monte Carlo, Azure, Databricks, SQL), ensuring scalable, high-performing data quality rules within the Data Office ecosystem.
Partner with supply chain stakeholders, data engineers, and data stewards to translate business needs into actionable user stories, while managing Agile delivery through Jira and maintaining documentation in Confluence.
Establish measurable data quality outcomes and governance controls, improving data accuracy, consistency, and transparency, and reducing operational risk through well-defined KPIs, lineage, and compliance practices

We are seeking a highly organized, driven, and technically savvy Product Owner - Data Quality & Governance to join our growing Data Office team. This individual will partner closely with Data Governance, Data Quality, Engineering, and Supply Chain stakeholders to drive initiatives focused on data quality, data governance, metadata management, lineage, and compliance.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on Product Owner who can own the backlog, facilitate Agile delivery, coordinate across technical and business teams, and drive accountability from concept through execution. This person will play a key role in advancing ongoing Data Quality and Governance initiatives, including adoption and expansion of Microsoft Azure Purview, data observability, and enterprise governance capabilities.

Responsibilities

Own and manage the Data Quality & Governance product roadmap, backlog, priorities, and sprint planning activities.
Partner with Data Governance, Data Engineering, Supply Chain, and business stakeholders to translate requirements into actionable user stories and acceptance criteria.
Lead Agile ceremonies including backlog refinement, sprint planning, ticket review, and approval workflows through Jira.
Collaborate with Scrum Masters and cross-functional teams to ensure successful execution of 50+ work items per sprint.
Drive implementation and continuous improvement of data governance frameworks, stewardship models, data quality standards, and remediation processes.
Support and expand enterprise data governance initiatives, including metadata management, lineage tracking, cataloging, and governance controls.
Help drive the ongoing Azure Purview proof-of-concept and future enterprise rollout efforts.
Establish and measure KPIs around data quality, governance maturity, compliance, and operational effectiveness.
Create executive-level presentations, roadmaps, dashboards, BRDs, process documentation, and governance artifacts.
Support audit readiness activities, evidence collection, SOX-related controls, and governance documentation efforts.
Maintain governance and process documentation within Confluence and SharePoint.
Serve as a visible, accountable leader who drives initiatives to completion and proactively removes blockers.

Must-Have Qualifications

5+ years of Product Owner, Product Management, Business Analyst, Program Management, or related experience.
3+ years driving Data Quality, Data Governance, Data Management, or Analytics initiatives.
Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) or Professional Scrum Product Owner (PSPO) certification or applicable Agile/Scrum experience.
Experience managing Agile delivery teams utilizing Jira and Confluence.
Hands-on experience working with Microsoft Azure Purview (catalog, lineage, governance, metadata, classifications, or stewardship initiatives).
Strong understanding of:
- Data Quality concepts
- Data Governance frameworks
- Data Lineage
- Metadata Management
- Data Stewardship
Experience working with data platforms including:
- Informatica IICS
- Azure
- Databricks
- SQL
Experience supporting enterprise data catalog, lineage, or metadata programs.
Ability to work closely with engineers while translating business requirements into technical deliverables.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
Exceptional communication, documentation, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
Experience building executive-ready presentations, roadmaps, dashboards, BRDs, and process documentation.
Self-starter mentality with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.

Preferred Qualifications (Plusses)

Experience with Monte Carlo Data Observability.
Understanding of Supply Chain data domains and business processes.
Exposure to SOX controls, audit readiness, compliance, and governance programs.
Ability to read and understand SQL queries, scripts, and ETL processes.
Experience working with Data Quality monitoring, rule creation, profiling, and remediation workflows.
Familiarity with Informatica Data Quality, CDQ, CD or similar governance tools.
Experience supporting large-scale enterprise data transformation programs.
Power BI reporting and dashboarding exposure.
Prior experience working with executive stakeholders and governance councils.
